Color of the Year 2015: Marsala

February 20, 2015

After picking Radiant Orchid in 2014, Pantone has picked MARSALA as its color of the year 2015.

It is a dark brown-red with blue undertones, named after the Marsala cooking wine famous for being used to bake tiramisu.

Every year since 1990,  the Pantone Color Institute picks the color they hope designers and consumers will be using for clothes, make-up and in their homes.

For now, reviews on the Marsala choice are mixed, mostly negative.

As for me, well, I'm not a fan of this tone, but I could like it as a hair color, for make-up, nail polish and accessories.

I think it could look gorgeous assorted with beige, bronze or gold.

So I gathered for you a couple of items in marsala that I love.

Ray-Ban original aviator sunglasses, 170$ at Zappos

Londontown Lakur polish, “Pass the Port,” $16

Molly Jane Designs Oxblood cowhide foldover clutch, $300

So what do you think about this color ? Do you like it ?

Curvily yours,

Gipsy B.
