Today I would like to write about one of my favorite person in the blogosphere.
The militant Baker, aka Jes Baker, is one of the most amazing woman & feminist today, right along with Velvet DÁmour or Tess Holiday.
Her blog is a space for body positivity, mental health, self love and feminism. I love her because she is so positive and progressive. If I had to choose a person to mentor my daughter on what it means and entails to be a woman, she would definitely be my first choice.
She has written a book, Things that no one will tell fat girls. I haven't read it yet but just ordered it for 16USD. In it, Jes Baker "calls on women to be proud of their bodies, fight against fat-shaming, and embrace a body-positive worldview to change public perceptions and help women maintain mental health."

Releasing the video, she started the #fatwomancan challenge, reminding that there's no need to make apologies to anyone for your appearance.
So if you aren't already, start using the hashtag !
She is also famous for her "Attractive & Fat campain, a response to Abercrombie & Fitch branding efforts. She changed Abercrombie & Fitch's logo to Attractive & Fat, to challenge CEO Mike Jeffries comments about marketing to "cool, good-looking people".

She produces the Body Love Conference, speaking at universities, taking pictures in her underwear, writing for several online publications, working with clothing companies to promote more plus size fashion.
I hope you will start follow her revolutionary efforts. Let me know what you think, or if you would like to share about other persons that are spreading mesages of body & self love.
Curvily yours,
Gipsy B.
